THQ VP Danny Bilson has been tellin’ da homies on ‘da street that Saints Row 3 will be “mind-blowing”, innit.“The next Saints Row is mind-blowing,” Bilson told CVG. “New tech; mind-blowing. I can’t talk about that too much but it’s mind-blowing.”He said PR and marketing for it will kick off beginning this year. The game’s planned for an E3 reveal.THQ’s already confirmed the game won’t be hitting until calendar 2011 at the latest.

SR3 Debuting At E3 2010

THQ quietly revealed Saints Row 3 and Red Faction 4 were in development in an investors conference in April. They've been mum about the games throughout the summer and fall but in a new interview, THQ's head of core gaming Danny Bilson gave some hints as to what you can expect from each of Volition's big sequels.

In the latest issue of Game Informer, Bilson states that Saints Row 3 is "mind-blowing" and will maintain the over-the-top feel of previous installments. "I've seen some of the mechanics that will be debuting at E3 this year. It's more towards crazy."

Bilson was a bit more playful when the discussion turned to Red Faction 4. "I don't know what we're doing...but if we were doing a sequel, we've solved a lot of issues. Even though [Red Faction: Guerrilla] is an 85-rated game that I love, we've come up with stuff that's way different and way better."

At that investors conference in April, SR3's release was pegged for THQ's 2011 fiscal year and RF4 for 2012. It's a bit too early to get excited about them but now we know THQ's attitude toward both.

Saints Row 3 due after March 2011

Hopefully due less than three years after previous title, says THQ.
Speaking in THQ's Q3 2010 earnings call, president and CEO Brian Farrell has revealed that we'll be getting the next instalment in the Saints Row franchise in the publisher's fiscal 2012. For gamers, that means it could arrive any time between April 1, 2011 and March 31 2012.

"Yes, it will be in fiscal '12. Our hope is it will be on slightly under a three-year cycle," stated Farrell. "As you know, those open-world games are the most complex games to build. The team at Volition has done a great job competing in that genre. As you know, we are the clear number two in that genre and hope to do even better with the next one."

Our money is on an October 2011 release date, three years after the release of Saints Row 2.

The first details on Saints Row: The Third have arrived. The sequel will have you playing the same character as the first two games, as the Third Street Saints move to expand their empire into the new area of Stillwater. Local kingpins, The Syndicate, aren’t to happy with this, and gang war erupts. Familiar faces from Saints Row 2 will return, and there will be a number of new toys, including upgradable weapons, air strikes and a bug that can take control of any vehicle it’s attached to.

The info all comes from Game Informer’s first look at the game. One thing Saints Row is known for is a ludicrous sense of fun. While GTA IV was busy being a bit gritty and serious, Saints Row 2 doubled up on the insanity of the original. One of the stand-out missions in that game had you and a rogue anarchist hijack a sewage truck to cover local banks and parliament buildings in poo. Saints Row: The Third shows no signs of backing down from there. Novelty weapons include a giant, vibrating purple dildo and the ability to call in air strikes. This will shift your view to the gunship’s perspective and let you nuke enemy gangs from the stratosphere.
New features to the series include a new levelling system, which will let you pour points into fist fighting or gunplay, and customisable weapons which will let you attach scopes and underslung grenade launchers to your favourite guns. The game won’t have any competitive multiplayer, but the co-op mode remains.
Other toys include an RC car that can plant bugs on other vehicles. The bugs will let you take over a car and drive it as though you were inside. This can be upgraded to take control of larger vehicles. The Mayhem events will also make use of the game’s biggest vehicles. In previous games these would give you unlimited ammo and let you loose an sections of the city. Saints Row: The Third will introduce “Tank Mayhem.” No prizes for guessing what that involves.
Saints Row: The Third is set to come out later this year.

U, al je trailer... Pola minuta traje ali nemojte da trosite vreme da gledate ovo.

Btw, nadam se da su u SR3 pristupili malo ozibljnije modelu voznje - posto je to bio najveci fail u prethodnim igrama.
